We did Christmas down in the Valley with my family. This is the 2nd time we have done this with my parents since we have been married. We all had such a fun time. Christmas evening JC and I had to go back home because we both had to work the next day. The kids spent a few days with my parents tho.

This year all three of the kids were able to play soccer. They have had such a fun time making new friends and learning to play. Saturday for us is completely crazy. Sadie’s game is at 8:30 then Cody’s at 12 then Jojo’s at 12:45.

Sadie is doing great she is really learning the fundamentals of it all

Cody’s team all just follow the ball and as long as it is in front of them they kick it, no matter where the goal is, or they run around and play tag during the game, they are so fun to watch.

Jojo is the first on to volunteer to sit out but when she plays she is excellent. She has scored a goal every game she as played

So Cody and I have settled into a really good routine here. We take all the kids to school in town then we hit the park. We get there around 8, first we have to feed the duck their breakfast they call to Cody every morning, “ Hey, Cody, we are hungry!” Then we go over to the playground and he plays while I walk/jog (more walking) around the play area. After that we run any errands if we need to in town then we head back home. We play with trains, blocks, legos or Wii. JC comes in for lunch around 11 and we eat. I get cleaned up and he lays down and watches TV. I start dinner and then it is about time to head back into town to pick up kids. There is about a 20 min wait after I pick up the girls and the time I get another boy so we go back to the park and let the kids burn some energy.

I am really loving the time with my boy! It makes me sad to think this is my last year to have him home with me and all to myself.

One more thing, he calls me Dude when we play games. I love it

We are in Payson and loving it. Sadie and JC are in heaven. Sadie gets to wake up every morning and go out and help JC and everyone else here with horses. She washes, doctors and rides and is really loving every minute.

We got some news scary news right after we moved, my mom has been diagnosed with breast cancer. I can’t believe this. Why her? She has had so many trials in her life it is hard for me to understand. But I guess it is not for me to analyze why but if anybody can get through it, it is my mom. She is the strongest woman I know!

We went down for a visit soon after. It is so nice to only be an hour away from my family!!! We went swimming while we were there with Ash and her kids and my nephews Zach and Nick

When we got back home we went to a concert in the park. Sara and Azlyn were here.

Lots of things have changed and happened in our family since my last post. Where to start?

APRIL

Well April was a busy month. Jordyn had her fist field trip to the Tucson Zoo. I was able to get the day of work and go with her we had so much fun. There was a parent for every child so it was just her and I wondering around wherever we wanted to. It was nice to spend a day alone with my middle baby.

For Easter we went down to the valley for the holiday my mom’s family all got together Saturday for a big picnic

At the end of April JC left us for 5 long weeks to do some day work for his cousins. Boy did I get a quick lesson in how to be a single mom, working with 3 kids. Not something that I ever want to have to do full time. My parents were superstars and came down to Tombstone and watched kids for me every single day I had to work. I really would not have been able to do it if it wasn’t for my dad. i usually would not have to go in til about 10:30 but I would not get home til 7. Then to make dinner, homework, dishes, bath and bedtime our house was CRAZY!

MAY

(JC was still gone all the month of May)

Sadie was in her school play The Wizard of Oz. She was the Wicked Witch of the West, it was so cute and she did a wonderful job of memorizing all of her lines.

Jordyn Graduated Kindergarten!! She led the program with The Pledge of Allegiance, she was so cute.

On the last day of school all the kids headed down to the valley with my dad so they could stay with my parents and I could finish my last week of work.

On top of all of the crazy was still going on I had the daunting task of packing up our whole house to move. We had no idea where we were going to move but knew we had to be gone by the end of the month but we had no job yet.

Right at the end of the month JC got a call and he got the job that he had been hoping for so now we have a direction, we are moving to Payson!!!

JC is really good about spending time with his girls. He loves to do special little things alone with them so they get one-on-one time with him. If they do well in school or have done a good job with chores or just need a little attention he will grab one of them aside and tell them they get do have a “Daddy daughter day” with him, it usually just consists of staying up late and getting in PJ’s and watching whatever it is they want or going into town for ice cream.

The girls love it and feel so special when they get a turn.

Jojo got to have one the other night. They watched her favorite show America’s Funniest Video’s and got ice cream in bed, if you know JC you would know what a treat it is if dad lets them eat anywhere besides the table.

What a good man he is!! Our girls will treasure the memories of special time with him forever.

Christmas 2010

This Christmas we stayed here on the ranch and JC’s family came to us. Heather brought her friend Amanda and her little boy Jacobi with her. That was interesting since she has never celebrated a Christmas before, it was kind of fun to have them be with our family.Val, Millie and Keegan, the now favorite Uncle, also where here.

Christmas eve we did our, well my, traditional Mexican food. Keegan made Pasole that was sooo yummy! I made rice and beans, taquitos and Val brought tamales. Also we had tons of sweets of course

That night we played so gamed and read the Nativity and The Living Christ. The elves were bringing PJ’s through out the night to everyone there too.

Keegan was so surprised when the elves rang the door bell and there was a package for him too, nice jammies Keegan.

That night we were up til about 12:30 getting things ready while the kids were dreaming of sugar plums. We just fell asleep and I hear Sadie waking everyone else up at about 1. I finally got her back to sleep by about 2 and they were up at 6:30 to open presents.

We had such a wonderful time! It was fun to have everyone together!!!

This year my favorite person/uncle passed away, Scott Ellsworth. I just have to say really quickly what a great great man he was. I loved him so much, and all who knew him felt the same. He was funny and caring and loved his family more then anyone! Here are just a few pictures of him.

Okay I finally remembered to pick up so batteries for my camera! So I got all my pictures from Dec ‘10 off of it and on to my computer!

Sadie turned 9 on December 15. That same night she had her Christmas program at school so it was a rushed birthday. They got home from the bus at 4 and we had to leave the house by 6 so we could make it in time. We opened her presents when she got home from school.

After that we ate her favorite dinner, Chicken Alfredo (aunt Kellies recipe). Then we rushed to the school to watch her sing.

The fist weekend in December JC and Kelly had to brand a few heifers so the kids and I tagged along. While the guys and I ran the cows through the shoot the kids played on the smaller shoot right next to it. They pretended to brand and vaccinate for hours.

For Thanksgiving we went to the Valley to be with my family. We had such a good time with everyone, but I didn’t take one picture .

Jordyn's Kindergarten did a very cute Thanksgiving program. Most of the kids got up and said they were thankful for their family, dogs, toys and a few for money. Jordyn stood up and said "I am thankful for my hands" I asked her when she was done why she was thankful for her hands and she told me that without hands she couldn't play or write or give hugs and that you can't do anything without hands.

Gathering and Shipping

Here are a bunch of pictures from when Spence Trey and ‘White (as Cody calls him) came to gather the Platt cows and ship them back home (Nov 2010). Cody had a blast he loves working. The girls were both at school and missed out on the fun

After everything was gathered up they had to sort the cows from the calves so they could be loaded onto the trucks

The truckers were very nice to Cody, they let him get up in the trucks and blow the horns. They also took him into the trailer and showed him how the compartments moved around to get the cattle on the top and in the bottom of the trucks.

After a long day we all felt like this!

Jojo turned 6 last week, we invited all her cousins to come for a easy & relaxing birthday weekend complete with no hair combing and all the playing outside you can handle My sister Ash and her 3 little ones came, my brother Jason and his 3 big and little ones came along with my parents. It was a ton of fun!

I looked out the window and what did I see? Cows and goats staring back at me! This ranch has brought me such a nice surprise, animal poop right before my eyes! (to the tune of Popcorn Popping)

i got home the other day and our sweet little goats had figured out how to get out of their pen, they leave little “surprises” everywhere. Also we had 2 cows that roamed into out font yard. Close the gates guys!! Gotta love it!

Fall Break

We went to the valley for 2 weeks for the girls Fall Break. We of course stayed at my mom’s house and the kids have more fun there then anywhere else we could have gone

The wedding was perfect. The weather was great, the food was yummy, the music was nice and the location could not have been better. Millie looked absolutely beautiful! Congrats Millie and Keegan!

I have a AWESOME sister Ashley. I have called her Lil Si since, well forever. Ashley is the most kind and thoughtful person I have ever met, she is a lot like our mom! I love her dearly. Ashley is very creative. She is also way more photogenic then I ever could hope to be. NOT FAIR!

She has taught herself to sew recently and it really good at it she made the apron (and can make lots more cute things). She also has decided that she can decorate cakes and yet again really good at it. She made the cake below for her little boys 4th birthday, WOW!!

Ash is a good mama, she is patient and kind with her kids and she has 3 that are 4 and under.

Cheer Camp

The girls were thrilled to hear that their new school did a cheer camp like St. Johns did, so we signed them right up and for the next 4 days they had an hour long practice after school learning the dance they did and a bunch of cheers too.

This is how we started our BEAUTIFUL Saturday morning. We woke up ate breakfast, the kids were happy and helping clean house.

They every were painting their faces, they did a pretty good job. We were going to put all the sheets in the wash when all the sudden I walked out my front door and this is what I saw.

I put the ruler and the shoe by it just so you can get a feel for how huge this thing was. Luckily it was dead so I went back in and went about my happy Saturday morning activities. About 20 minutes later when sheets where changed and we were going to start baking cookies, This is what I saw

It was INSIDE my house INSIDE!! AHHH! we (me and the kids) all went crazy. I hurry and called all who are on my party line and had to sit and stand watch for 2 whole hours until JC could get back home and take care of it.

It dropped its tail when JC got it.

Now maybe we can finally make cookies.

K I was at a YW thing a few weeks ago and somebody made Chocolate Éclair Cake and it was to yummy not to go find a recipe for it. This is the best recipe for it

4eggs

1/2 C butter

1 C water

1 C flour

8 oz cream cheese- softened

4 C milk

3 (3 oz) packs of instant vanilla pudding

1 container cool whip

Chocolate Icing

6 T cocoa

2 C powder sugar

3 T melted butter

few T. water

Preheat oven 400. Grease 9x 13 pan

whisk eggs set aside

in 2 qt. sauce pan melt butter and water. Add flour and cook a few min stirring constantly till forms a ball. remove from heat and add eggs whisk till smooth and spread into bottom of pan. bake for 25-30 min.

combine cream cheese and milk add pudding packs and mix. spread over cooled crust. top with cool whip. Top with chocolate icing

For icing:

whisk sugar and cocoa. add butter and start adding water till it becomes runny enough to pour on top of cool whip.

Let chill for at least 1 hr.

The girls school had a fair this last weekend and they wanted to enter something. Sadie entered a Rum Cake and Jojo did Apple Dumplings.

Ok today is the first Sunday of the football season. So in honor of the holiday Bro. Young has cleared all else from his schedule (yes that means church). The kids and I went, but lets be honest I HAD to teach, after we had to run by Wally World to get soy sauce and dog food.

When we got home I thought that I would make some snacks for the special day. JC was in the shower when we got home so Sadie thought that we should surprise him and have it all ready when he came back to take his position on the couch for the day. She thought he would like 2 kinds of dip with 2 kinds of chips and some pretzel M&M’s

He did!

We also made some for the kids so they could watch a movie and have snacks too.

I have been so proud of the way the girls wake up for school in the morning. For some of you reading this you might say oh that's not early but for my girls it is. I wake them up at anywhere between 5:45 and 6. Sadie used to have to wake up at about 7 so it has been a change. They are up dressed, beds made, hair fixed, shoes on and eating breakfast by 6:30. They are usually in good moods by the time they eat.

Do your kids ever come up to you asking for something specific and you have no clue what they are talking about? Well it happens to me all the time with my kids Jordyn and Sadie end up frustrated and Jojo usually cries and Sadie stays with it till I understand.

This morning I was in the kitchen cleaning up and Cody came in and said "Mom I want to watch Chunk in da Ice."

Me: ok what movie is that, do we have it

Cody: Yes its Chunk in the Ice and he gets that fing and that dog gets that fing

Me: what thing buddy show me

so Cody looked through all the movies and couldn't find it so I stat asking him more about the movie and think that he wants so watch Balto.

Me: Balto budd?

Cody: NO! CHUNK...IN...DA...ICE!!!

Day with the boy

The other day JC decided that it had been way to long since he spent a day with his boy so he stayed home and the two of them invited me to go to Sierra Vista with them. We bummed around town and then got some quick lunch at Chili's (which is rare for us to do anymore). We enjoyed the day together, my baby is getting too big too fast!

Labor Day Weekend

We have had so much fun the weekend. Maren and her kids came to visit us for the weekend. They got here lat Friday night and stayed till Monday morning. I love that my family will come and visit, even though I have a Brother and Brother-in-Law that refuse to come see me.

We also got a call from JC's cousin Greg and his AWESOME family, telling us they wanted to come out for the day on Saturday and also Val came to see us for the weekend, although I feel like I never get to spend the time with her when she comes because there are always other company too (Val next time you come we are going to go do something just me and you).

Saturday I thought that it would be fun to BBQ some hotdog's and chicken and let everyone ride and then roast marshmallows. So that is what we did and we had a blast! All the kids got along great and ate tons of somores.

I walked outside and was talking to him for a second and her heard Val yelling about a snake right outside the door. We both thought she was joking but sure enough there it was ready to strike. Kelly had walked right passed it a time or two we were all amazed that it didn't get him

Sunday we thought that we would take it a bit more easy and make a big Italian meal and hang out all day. For those of you that don't know Maren is a GREAT cook! She let JC choose anything he wanted for dinner (I don't think she will make that mistake ever again) he choose Gnocchi. Now this a a wonderful pasta dish but you have to hand make the pasta, which takes forever and is a big sticky mess. Needless to say Maren and I spent years in the kitchen but the end result was so worth the effort. After all was said and done Maren and I were beat and so we threw all kids in the shower and put them to bed. We followed shortly after.

Last Saturday afternoon we all went riding, JC took the kids down the wash and up the "mountain" as Cody says. Everyone had a great time and were all very happy. Later that night JC told the kids that the next day after church we should go out and drive around the ranch and see how much it has changed, since we have gotten all the rain, and have a picnic. So that is what we did. The first place we stopped was an Indian ruin by Stockton Hill but there was no shade and we were eaten alive by ants and biting flys so we went down to the was by the S.O. mill.

The girls had there first ever field day at school. Each grade wore a different color. Sadie's wore red and Jojo's wore green. There where 12 different stations they went to, to play games. Cody and I went to watch cheer and take pictures of them. The girls had so much fun and they all got a prize at the end!

When we first got to the school there was 10 min before it all started to Cody got to be part of Kindergarten!

This is some of our round steak.

I always have so much round steak when we get beef that I don't know what to do with. I make the usual things like chicken fried steak, salisbury steak, and well that is pretty much it for me. Since I am out of ground beef I need more recipes for it. So if any of you are like me I have something new (at least in my kitchen) that you might want to try.

I get my steak and season it with tenderizer, lime juice, mexican chicken bullion, and garlic salt. I let it sit for a few hours then take the whole thing and through it on the grill. After that I dice it up and put it in a tortilla with thinly shredded cabbage and cilantro and lime or whatever else you want in your taco.

Just thought I would share. If you have any good round steak recipes to share, Kellie & Kristen, I would love to have them.

New School Year

This has been an exciting new school year. Both of the girls are going to a new school and this is Jojo's first year. Sadie was a little nervous about her new teacher this year, she is very structured, which I love, and expects a lot form her students. If you know Sadie very well this will be an adjustment, she has a harder time being able to not talk to others and sit still in her seat so she may get a bigger load of homework but hopefully she will learn to focus a little better this year she is going to be a star! She came home from her first day every excited and said she thinks she will love her teacher.

Jordyn is so happy to go to school every morning even though she has to wake up at 5:45 to get there on time. She has the most loving teacher in the school and is ready to learn all she can. She already has 2 best friends and is learning to "read".

Then there is this little monkey. Cody has had a hard time without his big sisters to take care of him. I is my little shadow now and does not know quite what to do with himself. He goes with his Papa whenever he can or we go visit JC at work, he loves his daddy!

We are officially in monsoon season and we have been so thankful with all the moisture that it has brought to us, and are praying we get even more! We love watching the storms roll right over our ranch, it is almost exciting to sit on the porch and see and smell it get closer.

This Mt. or hill right behind the red barn is called Stockton Hill and when it builds up behind there is when we get the best storm.

The kids have so much fun playing in it, the girls are soaked from "showering" in the run off from the roof.

Now with the good of the storms comes the bad. It seems since the start of the storms we are getting more bugs then normal. This morning we started the day with the girls finding a rattlesnake under this bench. It was behind the grate Kelly and I pride it open and he hit it with his shovel but it slither/jumped back under the house so fast we could not kill it. Which lets us now that we probably have more under the house. (this is the same bench behind the kids in the picture above)

Then we found the biggest centipede I have ever seen in my life.

Last night JC killed another Vinegaroon, it is out of focus but look them up they are also called Whip Scorpions

and last but not least we have been seeing these all over the place. this was on the outside of the window.

I am not sure if the creepy crawly things we have out here could get any worse but I don't want to find out, lets just all say a prayer tonight that non of them get inside my house.

Disneyland

The kids and I got to go to Disneyland with my parents and my Brother Jason and his family a few weeks ago. JC wasn't able to go with us this time, I think JC layed in bed and cried every night that we were in Disneyland without him, yeah right, but I do know he was wishing he was there when we went to the beach. Maybe next time.

This is going to be an overload of pictures so readers beware

Right when we walked in to Main St. we got to take a picture with Mickey. That was perfect for Cody, it set the mood for the rest of the trip.

James and Jordyn were best friends all through the parks. James would keep his arm around Jojo so that she wouldn't be scared on rides, so sweet.

Sadie and Paige also had tons of fun going on all the "big kids" rides together.

The second day we were there we went to Bolsa Chica beach. We all had so much fun this was mine and Sadie's favorite part of the entire trip.

Cody was not a big fan of the waves and water but he loved the sand.

Jojo just is always happy to be anywhere!

I am trying to talk Sadie in to boogie boarding, and Jason is trying to do the same with Paige...

but they were not havin' it they liked to just play in the waves.

So Jason and I were the only ones who did try and we had so much fun!

The Branding

Today we did some branding and Sadie was the best crew member we had. She tagged ears, sprayed after they were cut, helped dehorn, give shots, get hot irons and put cold ones back on the fire, and even got to help brand one. When she was done she even had her first Rocky Mt. Oyster! Jojo and Cody enjoyed from afar and after 120 calves we left the rest of the work to the men so that we could get started on making lunch. After a long day of grocery shopping with the 2 little kids I picked Sadie up from school.

On the way home I got a phone call from JC. He asked when I was going to be home and told me he killed a snake.

He cut of his head and JC said it didn't rattle at all. Some guy from this area said they usually don't around here for some reason, that makes this snake situation even worse!

Yikes I am scared to death of these things so we had a long long talk with kids about being careful.

Ok the past week we have had my Big Brother Chris and his family come and my other brother Jason's family come, minus Jason, visit us.

I am not the best at remembering to take tons of pictures the way Maren is so I stole some from her blog that you can read about if you click here.

Chris, Courtney and their crew came last Saturday and stayed a couple nights. We rode horses and went into Tombstone and had a BBQ and just kinda hung out, that's what we do out here is just hang out mostly.

When Maren and the kids came we went to Sierra Vista and went swimming and we also went to Bisbee. That is such a neat little hippie town

They have a neat pool in Sierra Vista that the waves come on every so often and slides to go down. The kids loved it and we loved how well they slept that night!

This is Bisbee. It is this neat little artsy-fartsy town that everyone should see at least once while in AZ I never expected it to be like this, it is an old mining town we all had fun walking up and down the streets and stairs.

Hey these are the paint colors that I want to do my house. Not all of them tho.

I like the darkest blue, it not as bright as in the picture, and maybe not for a wall but for some pillows or just accents.

I like the darkest brown and the middle, the end one looks a little gray but it is not

the fist color is a yellow and I don't like it but the middle is like a rust red/ orange and the green is really pretty. the top picture shows it better.

OK I know it has taken me a long time to post something about where we moved sorry things have been stressful here. We really do love it so far. We have been here about for about 5 week and are all very happy. This is what we woke up to our first morning,

Seriously? Snow? It melted off quickly and then we had rain for the next 2 week, which we appreciated very much.

We got Sadie into the Tombstone school and she has made lots of new friend and loves being "the new kid". This is what Sadie and I see every morning while she eats breakfast.

For some reason we all sleep very heavy here and wake up in better moods, I am not sure if it the darkness or the complete silence well other then the coyotes, and yes I mean both kinds.

We have some great neighbors, the Arreola's, We love them and their kids very much they have 3 kids the close to Sadie's age but all of them get along greatly together. Plus Cindy is a great cook and they keep us in yummy salsa and tamales.

The kids have been able to ride more often because the stalls are just right here so JC doesn't have to load up and take horses or kids anywhere to ride, they have been loving that.

Thanks to my uncle Lacy we got a new puppy also, it is a Jack Russell Terrier and we named him Jester cause of his patch over his eye. Jordyn says that she is his mama and never lets the poor thing alone, not his best picture but the only one I have in my camera.

Like I said we all love it here and are glad that we moved I will have to post more pictures of the house and landscape around later but this will have to do for now.

These are my favorite Christmas candy in the world I just thought that I would share

in a large pot combine

2 C sugar
2 cubes butter
1 3/4 C lite Karo syrup
2 C heavy cream

cook on stove top, stirring constantly till temp reaches 248, remove from heat and stir in
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
pour into a 9x13 glass pan that has been VERY well greased with PAM (especially the bottom)

when completely cool remove/pry from pan and cut into squares and wrap in wax paper.

After I remove the Carmel's from pan i wipe all the extra grease from the candy before I wrap them.

Today Jordyn Kelly is 5 years old. She has been so excited for this birthday. This is the first year that she has really told us exactly what she wants for the birthday and has told everyone that she either can or can’t do something (which everyone works to her advantage) because it is almost her birthday and she will be 5.

A few weeks ago Sadie and Jojo had their Primary Program and my parents came up to watch them and to play. My mom decided it would be fun to let the girl stay with them next door at my Grandads house but I got a call at about 12:30 am telling me Jordyn was sick and throwing up so we got her cleaned up and back home. Then at about 5:30 someone was knocking on my bedroom window, yup it was my mom this time Sadie was sick.

Saturday JC, Jordyn, my parents and Grandad went to watch the soccer games and them went out to eat. Sadie and I stayed home and that night everyone was better so my mom made a Halloween craft they all had so much fun.

Cody has been occasionally going pee in the potty. So today I went and bought him his first underwear, which is a first in the Young house because the girls do NOT wear underwear they wear PANTIES!!! He thinks he is really cool he even tried to go poop in the potty he got half of it in there, it was a valiant effort. I am sure there will be many more accidents to come but it is a good start. At least I can see an end in sight of the diaper days in our home, thank goodness.

For Easter this year the kids and I went to the Valley to see my parents and my Grandma and Grandpa Buchanan. We had a great time Friday afternoon we went to an Easter party with my sis-in-law Maren and her crew. It was fun the kids played games and had an Easter Egg hunt, there are no pictures of Jojo she was mad and wanted to go home the whole time

i went on a field trip with Sadie's class to Sunrise Dairy the other week. It was not the most fun field trip Sadie was not very impressed she told me she can see cows whenever she wanted to. but she did think it was interesting to see how they were milked. Then after the tour we went to the park and ate lunch and headed back to the school.

I really think that Sadie had more fun then she lets on.

Saturday afternoon after we got all of our chores for the day done, we all got cleaned up and Sadie was having a bad day so I pulled her into my room while I was doing my makeup and asked her if she wanted hers done too before she got to spend the night at Grandma Vals house. Of course she jumped at the chance and so we did full make up with eyeliner and all. She was so happy that she wanted me to take a few pictures of her.

Well it has been a while since I have updated my blog. really nothing major has been going on. We did Christmas and is was great then New Years/our 5 yr anniversary was next. My mom and dad came into town so they could sit for us, Thanks guys it is nice to not have to pay a sitter for once we really appreciate you!

Then it was back to the grind, Getting kids up and ready school (this is a real struggle in our house) and BABYSITTING.

We have made one trip to the ER for nun other then Cody but it was nothing serious as usual and he is fine now.

The only real exciting thing around here is we have a little calf that we are taking care of right now. Its name is Miles, the kids cousins' Parker and Charlie named him while they had him. We bottle feed him 3 times a day and the girls and Cody LOVE him. Sadie gets up every morning before 7 and feeds him before she can get ready for school, then Jordyn and I feed him lunch and Sadie does it again in the evening.

This year, much thanks to my parents, we took our kids to Disneyland for Christmas. We had SO much fun and so did the kids with their cousins. My older brother Jason and his family and my little sister Ashley and her fam and my parents. The only ones who were missing was my big bro Chris and all his, we missed you guys!!! Anyways it was the best time. I thought that I would post a few pictures, my camera was not working so well, I would take a few pictures then my batteries would die so I am waiting for my mom and sisters to send me some that they took.

Happy Birthday my BIG girl

I am so proud of My Sadie Belle! She has grown into such a wonderful little lady. Sadie was born December 15, 2001 8 weeks premature. She weighed in at 4 lbs 3 oz and dropped down to 3 10. She was such a little fighter. Her immune system was under developed and had a blood transfusion but only had to stay in the hospital 3 weeks before I could bring her home. She was such a good baby and slept through the night as soon as the doctors told me that I did not have to wake her every 3 hours to feed her.

Sadie is so full of life and is bursting at the seems with personality! She has always been super silly and loves to pretend but this picture is one of her calm moments She was about 1 in this picture

This next picture is a Val's house this was Sadie's favorite thing to wear like I said she was big into dress up and pretend, in fact the first 6 months or more we lived in St. Johns Sadie could be found on any given day in a princess costume, she was almost 2 here.

I took a ton of them to a craft fair and sold them for $30 a piece, but I have 12 left, If anyone is interested in buying them I will sell them for $20 a piece, they are made out of Wranglers, these are just 2. I have them in different fabric. They are 16" long and 91/2" wide across the top and from the heal to toe they are 13"

So spread the word, I would love to get rid of them before I go out town on Friday Thanks everyone. Oh yeah I will mail them out if I need to.

Asia came over and spent Halloween with us. We started by carving pumpkins while Cody was down for his nap, I figured that it would be much easier this way. The girls all drew on a piece of paper how they wanted there pumpkins to look then the cleaned them out and I carved, the best I could. Here they all are, they had so much fun. Once they were finished Sadie and Asia pretended they were chefs and played with the seeds and goo for over an hour and made a huge mess.

After that my brother and sister and thier families came out. After we all got done eating pizza we were just hanging out and here comes my little sister walking out side looking like this

Well its official she's all grown up...Jordyn turned 4. She is so excited about being "BIG". We were in the valley at my mom's for her birthday so we asked Jordyn what she wanted to do for her day and she told us that she wanted to go to the zoo, so that is what we did. Heather, Millie, Matt and Chase all went with us. We really did not see that much it seems but we were there for 3 hours I think and after that much time the kids were tired, I did not get that many pictures but here are a few.

This was Sadie's favorite part of the zoo, she found this goat in the petting zoo that just layed there and she felt sorry for it so she stayed by it the whole time we were in there.

After we went to the zoo we had a party for Jordyn at my parents house My sister Ashley and my brother Chris and there families and Heather and Millie came. She wanted a Rainbow birthday so that's what she got.

Kay I have been wanting to make caramel apples for a while now but you can't get the little square caramels in this town anywhere so I thought that I was going to have to do it all from scratch, yuck! Then I stumbled across the Werthers web site and I made these oh so yummy little things. Here is the web site for the recipe. I doubled it to make about 11 med. sized apples and I got toffee bits and sprinkled over them after I drizzled chocolate.

Ashley, Matt Chase

My little sister Ashley is the BEST ever she is the most kind, giving, creative, happy to help anyone person you will ever meet, not to mention a FANTASTIC mom! Ashley has been blessed with a special little boy named Chase who you read about here. She also has a sweet baby girl named Jess.

I know it seems like I have been blogging only about Jordyn lately but she is the one who has been most interesting (I guess that is the right word) in the family so this is the latest. I walked in the kids room and could smell permanent marker very strongly, but no Jordyn. I asked Sadie where she was and she pointed under the bed, which is never a good sign. I got her out and asked if she used the marker and she quickly shook her head no. By this I knew she used it and used it in a way she should be in trouble for. Finally I got it out of her where it was used and then very proudly she told me "see mom it is my bed and now it says J-O-R-D-Y-N." then she got to spend some good time on time out.

First Day of School!!

Today was Jordyn's first day at her Pre-School. She was SO excited and wanted me to keep taking pictures and video for Grandma (that girl loves the camera). She was excited the entire way there and was bouncing around in the car and singing and giggling the whole time, then we arrived... She hung on to my leg and did not want to go. Mind you she know her teacher very well and had a couple of good friends in there with her. That is true Jordyn style though!

When I went back to pick her up she was as happy as a clam. The lesson to day was farm aminals in honor of the Fair this weekend so they sang and talked about animal and sat "criss-cross-applesauce" while they did. They also "made a paper" about animal with 2 legs and 4 legs. she did great and told me " I will not have a hard time next time I go"

Surgery

Cody had to go back in to the hospital yesterday to put tubes back into his ears. it was a real simple procedure it took about 7-10 minutes for the surgery and 20 in recovery. He was mad about the whole thing though.

We had to be to the hospital by 6am which ment leaving our house by about 5 so we could stop and get some gas. Cody could not have anything to eat or drink so he was not thrilled by the time we arrived. A very nice old man walked us back to the room and tried giving Cody a teddy bear but Cody punched it out of the mans hands an screamed at him. He would not let anybody near him, which made getting his vitals fun.. He was ticked when they put on his hospital bands, infact when he woke up that was the first thing he wanted, was them off.

He was fine once we left the hospital and fed him some breakfast and apple juice. When we got home he was sleepy and took a long nap and now he is as good as new.

This is the only picture I got of him. He refused to wear the cute little gown they gave him so he was naked the whole time.

More Reptiles

The other day Sadie came running across the street telling JC and I "You guys gotta come see the snake Little Harvey has" I walked back over with her and Jordyn to find Little Harvey in the back of the truck holding a snake. Sadie was scared to death, much to Little Harv's delight, of it right at first but soon got over her fears enough to carry it back to our house to show Cody and Dad.

Cody thought that it was the best thing ever, the poor snake kept getting squished but never bit or even acted like it cared. Jordyn would not have a thing to do with it. Thanks Harvey for sharing your snake with us!!

GIRLS NIGHT!

JC is out of town this weekend so I told the girls that we would do something fun. I try to do this when he leaves over the weekend, which is not very often he usually is gone during the week.

We ordered pizza and had a picnic in the family room (Cody was invited to this part) Then we rented a movie, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. We all got in our PJ's and put Cody to bed. We climbed into my bed for our late night movie while enjoying some Ben and Jerry's Strawberry Cheese Cake and Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream. We had lots of fun and it makes the girls feel special I love them tons, it is fun to be with them as they get older!
