Out with the old and in with the new

Well this past week we have had a lot of things happen. JC has been looking for a new truck. His was having a hard time and needed to be retired. We thought that we would run down to the valley after talking to some dealerships in Showlow and talking to some on the phone in the valley. We were thinking that we would just go down Saturday morning so JC could look all day then we would go home Sunday. Well he found a truck and bought it, they had to do some after-market stuff to it so we were stuck in the Valley til Tuesday. It was really sad to see the old truck go, we had so many wonderful memories in it with our family.

Sadie still waiting they pushed her back an hour

After surgery

The next out with the old was Yesterday we had Sadie's tonsils removed. She had to be there at 6 am, which means we had to leave at 5am to get there. Candice (JC's cousin) came bright and early to sit with Cody, we totally appreciate her!!! Marybeth kept Jordyn over night and all day, Thank you Aunty I love ya tons!!! She did so well and was so brave. They told her that I could come back with her while she was put to sleep, well much to my surprise she did not want me she wanted her daddy so he got all suited up to go back. Then when she woke up I was the one who went back with her so her loving mommy would be the first person she would see well once she started talking the first thing she said was "Can you go and get my Daddy?" I have to say I was a little hurt...but not to bad.

Bed Time Blues

OK please tell me I am not the only Mom out there who's child calls them in a million times at night, "Mama, I need another drink" "Mama, I'm hot" "Mama, my finger hurts" and so on...
Well I came up with an idea. I made Sadie "Bed time Coins" I give her one coin every night when I tuck her in. If she stays in bed and does not call for me or get up she gets to keep her coin and put it in her jar.
If she does decide to get up or call for me she has to give me back her coin. Each one is worth 15 min. She gets one Sunday night through Thursday night. Friday evening we count up all her coins and she gets to trade them in for "stay up late time" that night, fifteen minutes past her bed time for each coin she has earned. She also has the chance to win a bonus 15 min coin. If she stays in her bed every night and gets all 5 coins in her jar she gets the red bonus coin. (That way it makes and even hour and a half to stay up past her bed time).

I will let you know in a few weeks how it is working!

A little bit of nothing

Well things have been crazy around here with school getting ready to be over with. Sadie has been totally unmotivated to get up and go to school or do any homework let me tell you how fun that has been. She is ready for a break from all her hard work, and to enjoy her summer vacation!

Jordyn is a busy little thing she has been really into helping me wether it is making cookies or hanging laundry. Cody is changing so much, he is really starting to say lots of words his favorites are Papa, Jojo (jordyn) and nana (banana).

My Parents are FINALLY comming to visit us, I think that the road from Phx. to St. Johns must be a lot longer then the road from St. Johns to Phx. The girls are so excited to see them, even though we were just there a few weeks ago. It should be fun to hang out with them!

Sadie's Program

Today was Sadie's Spring/ Mothers Day singing program. She had a solo part and did such a wonderful job I am so proud of her. She got up there and was so cute and confident, she sang a Mothers Day song. Then they did a square dance, Sadie and her partner where the head couple, then they did the Two Step. It was so cute to watch all those Kindergartners! Sadie was upset that her Daddy and Grandmas could not be there and just her mom was going to be so Marybeth came to watch her. When they where done they gave all the moms a one of their shoes that had been spray painted gold with Snap Dragons in them and a letter they wrote. Here are a few pictures.

Canpfires and Cousins

A few weeks ago both my brothers came up to St. Johns with there families and spent a couple of days. Jason, Maren, Paige and James came on a Saturday. Jay went home the next because he had to work but Maren and the kids stayed til that Wed. On that Wed my Bro Chris and his family came up. The kids all had so much fun together. They climbed trees and around like little monsters, one night we roasted marshmallows and had tons of fun together. Maybe next time Ash and her family will come also

On that Friday me and the kids and I packed up and went to the valley for Easter at my Grandma and Grandpas house. It was so nice my Grandma had a great spread and all my Buchanan side of the family was there. The kids had fun they played in Grandmas big orange tree and did the usual Egg Hunt.

I was planning on going back home the next day but then ended up staying the rest of the week so that I could go to Ashley's baby shower. The kids and I had a great time I took them swimming a few times at Heather and Millie's apartment. The girls bought wooden bird houses and painted them, Sadie learned how to knit on her fingers and is going to make a jump rope out of it. We went to the mall to played and eat lunch (that is one of the girls' fav. things) I left my camera at my moms so I will post the pics when I get it back this weekend.

Jordyn I had this on my phone

Now that we are back home things are business as usual. Sadie is back to the school routine, although she is home today with an ear infection, and I am babysitting 2, 3yr old little girls who are good and sweet, a 5 yr old for a few hours after she gets home from school and also a 8 week old baby I don't have him full time yet, just when they need me here and there for right now. Needless to say my house is a wreck most of the time but I am doing my best to keep up with is despite what JC might tell you.

Fun with stitches

Last Saturday we woke up as usual and before JC left to work he asked me what I was going to do today, I said nothing, just have a nice boring Saturday. Well 2 hours later I was in the Family room with Cody and the crawled over to a shelf I have and started shaking it. I had 4 THICK glass cups on the top shelf and one of them came craching down and hit him right on the forhead. I rushed him to the ER (well my Grandad rushed us) and the Doctor decided to just put that super glue stuff on it. The nurse said it really should have stitches but what the Doc says goes. We drove home and cody yet down for a nap. About an hour later he woke up screaming, he had bumped his head on the crib and split it open agian so we had to go back so that they could stitch it up. What an exciting day!!!

Happy New Year

We have had a great and busy holiday season. Thanksgiving was nice my parents came up here and we just had a small dinner with them, my Grandad and my cousin and his family. After that we had Sadie's 6th birthday, holy cow I can't believe she is getting so big, we went down to the valley and went to Makudo's Island. For any of you that go to the valley and don't know what that is, it is this giant indoor tree house that you can run around and play it is tons of fun!! I forgot my camera so I don't have any pictures I am still waiting to get them from my mom and sis-in-law.

This Christmas was the best one we have had, our kids truly enjoyed it and Sadie really got it this year. Not just Santa but the true meaning. Jordyn was very excited and understood the whole Santa thing and Cody really did not care about anything and was just is happy little self. Christmas Eve we had a progressive dinner with JC's family it was really lots of fun we went to 3 houses, read the nativity and ate lots of yummy food. Then we went to his parents house and did our usual tradition of opening PJ's. The girls were very anxious to get home and go to bed so Santa did not miss them. It was lots of fun.

New Years Eve we did a whole lot of nothing we went to bed early so that we could wake up and take Sadie skiing. She did pretty well she will need a little more practice but it was fun for JC to share something that he loves so much with her and also for the three of us to spend some time together.

Catch you all up.

Okay it has been forever since I posted something so here it is I will catch everyone up to speed. Our little family finally went through the temple and were sealed together on the 27 of Oct. It was awesome!! It was so neat to be able to have the kids there with us they were all so sweet, when they walked in there was not a dry eye in the place. Sadie was so reverent and good, Jordyn was so cute and was excited she was getting "married" to our family, and Cody was an angel he laughed and cooed the whole time it was so cute. It was nice to see everyone all JC's aunts and uncles were there it was cool to see them because we don't have the chance to very often.
The next week was Halloween the kids had so much fun carving pumpkins, (Jordyn hated it at first she though that is was yucky) and trick or treating.

For Halloween Sadie was a zombie and a very scary one at that, Jordyn was Dee Dee Doodlebop and Cody was squirt the turtle from Nemo.
Next we had Jordyn 3rd birthday, I can't believe that she is getting so big. We went down to the valley for farm bureau meetings, so much fun I highly recommend it (yeah right), so we had a tinker bell birthday party with her cousins it was lots of fun and she was so happy with everything that she got. When we got back home we had another little party with her Papa and Grandma so she got double duty this year.

Now this week back at home all the kids got sick. Jordyn ran a fever and slept for 2 days. Then I got a call from school on Wed. telling me to come get Sadie she was sick and she had the flu with a cough and fever and then Cody got the stomach bug also but hopefully now we are over it and can have Thanksgiving and Christmas without getting sick. I am so excited for the holidays!! I can't wait to put up my tree the day after Thanksgiving woo hoo!
