Carmels

These are my favorite Christmas candy in the world I just thought that I would share

in a large pot combine

2 C sugar
2 cubes butter
1 3/4 C lite Karo syrup
2 C heavy cream

cook on stove top, stirring constantly till temp reaches 248, remove from heat and stir in
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
pour into a 9x13 glass pan that has been VERY well greased with PAM (especially the bottom)

when completely cool remove/pry from pan and cut into squares and wrap in wax paper.

After I remove the Carmel's from pan i wipe all the extra grease from the candy before I wrap them.

Today Jordyn Kelly is 5 years old. She has been so excited for this birthday. This is the first year that she has really told us exactly what she wants for the birthday and has told everyone that she either can or can’t do something (which everyone works to her advantage) because it is almost her birthday and she will be 5.

Here she is today 5 years old. She is such a sweet little thing. Jordyn is a very hard worker and when she starts a job she will not stop till it is done right. She also loves animals, sometimes a bit to much.

We are so proud of her and what a fun little ball of personality she is.

Grandparents

A few weeks ago Sadie and Jojo had their Primary Program and my parents came up to watch them and to play. My mom decided it would be fun to let the girl stay with them next door at my Grandads house but I got a call at about 12:30 am telling me Jordyn was sick and throwing up so we got her cleaned up and back home. Then at about 5:30 someone was knocking on my bedroom window, yup it was my mom this time Sadie was sick.

Saturday JC, Jordyn, my parents and Grandad went to watch the soccer games and them went out to eat. Sadie and I stayed home and that night everyone was better so my mom made a Halloween craft they all had so much fun.

Sunday Morning at about 6 or 6:30 I got another call, it was my mom AGAIN. This time Cody had gotten up early and went next door to see my parents without anyone knowing her was gone, it was freezing out side so he sat outside the door crying cause nobody heard him at the door and he was cold.

Today was Sadies first dance preformace they danced at the JV Football halftime. She did really well and had tons of fun.

This was part of the pre dance photo shoot that she had to have.

Then later cousins came over to play in the leaves with the kids.

Sunrise

Today JC, Sadie, Jordyn and I all went up to Sunrise and got the kids and JC their season ski passes. We stopped in Round Valley and ate breakfast first then we went and took a scenic lift ride. I was so beautiful up there with all the leaves changing. It was such a fun day.

This is when we like ‘em the best.

 

Its the most wonderful time of the whole day!

The Games They Play

Ok this is the kids new favorite thing to play with JC. They run as fast as they can through the family room past JC and he tries to rope their feet. Then he ties them up. They think it is the funniest thing in the world. The harder they fall the harder they all laugh.

Our first ever pair of "underwear"

Cody has been occasionally going pee in the potty. So today I went and bought him his first underwear, which is a first in the Young house because the girls do NOT wear underwear they wear PANTIES!!! He thinks he is really cool he even tried to go poop in the potty he got half of it in there, it was a valiant effort. I am sure there will be many more accidents to come but it is a good start. At least I can see an end in sight of the diaper days in our home, thank goodness.

An April Shower of Posts

For Easter this year the kids and I went to the Valley to see my parents and my Grandma and Grandpa Buchanan. We had a great time Friday afternoon we went to an Easter party with my sis-in-law Maren and her crew. It was fun the kids played games and had an Easter Egg hunt, there are no pictures of Jojo she was mad and wanted to go home the whole time

That night we went to the Easter Pageant and it was great the girls really loved it and Cody sat still for almost all of it. Saturday my big Bro Jason and I took our kids to a place called Bounce-U. it is this really cool moonbouce things that was toms of fun for the kids and Jason to play in. After that all my bros and sis came to my moms house and had abbq picnic
