More Reptiles

The other day Sadie came running across the street telling JC and I "You guys gotta come see the snake Little Harvey has" I walked back over with her and Jordyn to find Little Harvey in the back of the truck holding a snake. Sadie was scared to death, much to Little Harv's delight, of it right at first but soon got over her fears enough to carry it back to our house to show Cody and Dad.

Cody thought that it was the best thing ever, the poor snake kept getting squished but never bit or even acted like it cared. Jordyn would not have a thing to do with it. Thanks Harvey for sharing your snake with us!!

GIRLS NIGHT!

JC is out of town this weekend so I told the girls that we would do something fun. I try to do this when he leaves over the weekend, which is not very often he usually is gone during the week.

We ordered pizza and had a picnic in the family room (Cody was invited to this part) Then we rented a movie, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. We all got in our PJ's and put Cody to bed. We climbed into my bed for our late night movie while enjoying some Ben and Jerry's Strawberry Cheese Cake and Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream. We had lots of fun and it makes the girls feel special I love them tons, it is fun to be with them as they get older!

Kids, Lizards and Frogs oh my.

Aug 08 003

Okay most of you know that I babysit, right? Well I didn't all through the summer it was so nice to go to the pool and to swim lessons and hang out all day in my grubby clothes, clean and get ready for the day when I was good and ready. Run downtown, grab a coke and walk through Wilbur's in peace. Well those days are over. I started sitting again last Monday.

I have 5 little ones 3 and under for a good part of the day, they are the most calm, sweet kids you ever have seen (I could not have got an easier bunch but it is still kaos) I have just enough time in the morning to get Sadie ready and off to school and slap some make up on my face and get Jordyn breakfast before my troops start rolling in and it starts. It really is fun and they are good sweet kids

This morning Jordyn and I found a little lizard on the house so I caught it to show her and Cody, Jordyn played with it for a while then decided that it scared her and started to "wriggle" and "scream" so Cody wanted to play with it he thought that it was the coolest thing ever I put it on her shirt and he ran around the yard with it for about 30 min

When Sadie got home from school today and after all the kids went home I found a cute little frog. They all love it but Cody is a little scared of it, strange since he like the lizard so well, here are some pictures they are still out playing with it poor thing...

She Made It!!

DSCF1709

Well we or should I say Sadie, made it through her first week of being a first grader with with flying colors.

The first day of school Sadie woke up at 5:30 am, after not being able to fall asleep that night till about 10 or 10:30. She was bright eyed and bushy tailed, me not so much. All morning she asked "can you take me now mom" "is it time to go yet" we did not leave till about 8 so it was a long morning.

She has had a homework assignments all week long. Sadie has found a new friend on our block, so they have played together twice this week and she has another friend over now, she is quite the socialite.

The only bump that she had was yesterday when we got a phone call telling us someone had stepped on Sadie's new glasses and broke them other then that it was a wonderful week!

Jordyn starts her preschool Sept 9th so I will post something for her then.

What 3 in one day!!!

K JC and I, well more like just me, moved Cody out of our bedroom!!! He is now in with the girls. I had to move the girls dresser into our room so that there is still room for the kids to play in their room but it looks so much better. I also FINALLY hung my pictures also. I have not taken any pictures of the kids room yet because they have trashed it and there are no sheets on the beds cause I am washing them so I will when it is back to normal.

The 4th and other stuff

The 4th is my favorite holiday besides Christmas. I love to be here at home for it, they do lots of fun things! They fire the cannon starting a 5 am about a million times (JC was not pleased about that one) Then starting at 6 am they have a pancake breakfast at the park, we made it there around 8. After that they have a patriotic little program then they do a free BBQ in the park. After everyone has filled there bellies it is time to have the foot races. I am proud to say for the 4th year in a row my kids took first or a CLOSE second place in their age groups, we train all year for this, the winner gets a gold dollar, second gets a 50 cent piece and third (which we don't even bother with) gets a quarter and everyone who races gets cracker jacks, but really it is lots of fun to watch. I only have one picture cause I am a slacker and forgot my camera, Thanks Jamie for taking one for me!!!

Cody running for 2nd place in the foot races

After all that fun we came back to my house and let the kids play on the water slide and rest for a bit so that we could go to Lyman Lake for the fireworks. It was such a fun day the kids made it about 3 minutes in the car after the fireworks before crashing out.

The month of June

Okay Everyone has been giving me a hard time about my lazy blogging, all i have to say is at least I am not as bad as Nikki (thats right lady I am calling you out)

This is what has been happening last month in a nut shell. Sadie was in the Fiesta Parade, she did a little cheer camp and got to walk in the parade and perform. She did very well I thought that she was going to have a hard time, I think that they walked about a mile or maybe more and cheered the whole time and it was very hot out side. My parents and my nephews Zach and Nick came up to watch her is was fun.

JC's sisters Heather and Millie came to town with their "friends". We went out to the sand wash and BBQ and hung out by the fire (this is our kids favorite thing to do). It was tons of fun and our kids sleep great after.

The girls also have been doing swim lessons. Jordyn is doing great this is the first year she has been able to do them and she is doing wonderful she is now a good little swimmer. Sadie moved up to level 3 and is doing great as well, she is jumping off the high dive just like her dad. Cody is not in swim lessons but on Tuesday and Thursday after lessons we stay and swim. Cody is following suit he is a total water dog like the rest of them.

Well that is the most of it for June...

Out with the old and in with the new

Well this past week we have had a lot of things happen. JC has been looking for a new truck. His was having a hard time and needed to be retired. We thought that we would run down to the valley after talking to some dealerships in Showlow and talking to some on the phone in the valley. We were thinking that we would just go down Saturday morning so JC could look all day then we would go home Sunday. Well he found a truck and bought it, they had to do some after-market stuff to it so we were stuck in the Valley til Tuesday. It was really sad to see the old truck go, we had so many wonderful memories in it with our family.

After surgery

The next out with the old was Yesterday we had Sadie's tonsils removed. She had to be there at 6 am, which means we had to leave at 5am to get there. Candice (JC's cousin) came bright and early to sit with Cody, we totally appreciate her!!! Marybeth kept Jordyn over night and all day, Thank you Aunty I love ya tons!!! She did so well and was so brave. They told her that I could come back with her while she was put to sleep, well much to my surprise she did not want me she wanted her daddy so he got all suited up to go back. Then when she woke up I was the one who went back with her so her loving mommy would be the first person she would see well once she started talking the first thing she said was "Can you go and get my Daddy?" I have to say I was a little hurt...but not to bad.

Bed Time Blues

OK please tell me I am not the only Mom out there who's child calls them in a million times at night, "Mama, I need another drink" "Mama, I'm hot" "Mama, my finger hurts" and so on...
Well I came up with an idea. I made Sadie "Bed time Coins" I give her one coin every night when I tuck her in. If she stays in bed and does not call for me or get up she gets to keep her coin and put it in her jar.
If she does decide to get up or call for me she has to give me back her coin. Each one is worth 15 min. She gets one Sunday night through Thursday night. Friday evening we count up all her coins and she gets to trade them in for "stay up late time" that night, fifteen minutes past her bed time for each coin she has earned. She also has the chance to win a bonus 15 min coin. If she stays in her bed every night and gets all 5 coins in her jar she gets the red bonus coin. (That way it makes and even hour and a half to stay up past her bed time).

I will let you know in a few weeks how it is working!
